At Thermae Bath Spa, you can choose from a wide range of spa, health and beauty treatments. These feature thermal treatments, such as Watsu and the Vichy Shower, which utilise the natural thermal waters.
Traditional treatments such as massage and reflexology are complemented by an irresistible selection of body wraps, facials for men and women, ?dry flotation? and more original therapies such Hot Stone therapy and Pantai Luar.
Thermae Bath Spa is the only Spa in Great Britain to use the beneficial power of natural hot springs.
The water from these springs is believed to have fallen as rain around 10,000 years ago and then sank to a depth of about 2km below the earth's surface. Here it was heated by high temperature rocks before rising back up through a break in the limestone that lies beneath the city of Bath.
Over 1 million litres of mineral-rich water flow from the thermal springs each day, at an average temperature of 45°C or 113°F. The thermal waters were used for many years in Bath to treat rheumatic and muscular disorders, as well as skin ailments and respiratory problems.
The Cross Bath and Hot Bath are fed by the Cross Spring, while the New Royal Bath draws water from the Hetling and King's Spring. The King's Spring also supplies the Kings Bath in the Roman Baths behind the Georgian Pump Room.
