Description
The Pendley Manor was commissioned by Joseph Grout Williams in 1872. His instructions, to architect John Lion, were to build it in the Tudor style, reflecting the owner's interest in flora and fauna on the carved woodwork and stained-glass panels. The bedrooms are attractively furnished and well equipped and the restaurant boasts AA and RAC awards. Pendley Manor offers flexible conference facilities for up to 350 people. 9 purpose-built conference suites and 8 syndicate rooms, all with natural daylight, are available. Team-building and multi-activity days within the grounds can be arranged as well as marquee events. On the estate, which lies at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, sporting facilities include tennis courts, gymnasium, a snooker room with full-size table, games rooms, buggy riding, laser shooting, archery and hot-air balloon rides. Special events, include the annual flower show with Charlie Dimmock and the outdoor Shakespeare festival. The hotel's new health and leisure facilities has an indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and solarium. The beauty spa now offers a full range of Clarins treatments. Places of interest nearby include Woburn, Winslow Hall, Chenies Manor, Tring Zoological Museum and Dunstable Downs
